Codex Alimentarius - Boon or Bane?
In case you aren't familiar with it, the Codex Alimentarius is a set of regulations originating in Europe that relate to upper limits of nutrients allowable in supplements.
What does this have to do with us here in the U.S.? As it turns out, plenty, since this set of regulations will likely be mandatory for all countries wanting to engage in international trade.
In other words, because the U.S. wants to be involved in international trade, the government might inadvertently (or even intentionally) create a scenario where your freedom to choose which nutrients you can get in your supplements is severely limited.
You can probably guess that this is a rather complicated issue. So rather than pretend I can do it justice here, I refer you to this link where you can watch a short video presentation given by Dr. Rima Laibow, MD. She is extremely well-spoken and well informed on the problems with the Codex and presents her case very well.
If you care about the freedom to make your own choices when it comes to your health, I encourage you to make the time to watch this as soon as you can.
