Are You Getting Enough of this Basic Nutrient That Reduces Your Risks Of Cancer, Heart Disease, Depression And Dementia?

There is a basic nutrient that lowers your risk of cancer, heart and blood vessel disease, depression, dementia and birth defects. Surprisingly, many people don't get enough of it, even though the government requires many processed foods to add it.

And recent research also shows that it's crucial for supporting healthy bone density.

The nutrient? Folate.

The best food sources for folate include leafy greens, green beans, broccoli, beans, nuts, liver (organically raised, naturally), salmon and brewer's yeast.

The problem with getting enough folate through food is that you must eat the food fresh and raw. It breaks down quickly so that even one or two days out of the field can greatly reduce folate amounts. And you loose even more if you freeze or heat the food.

Fortunately, there is a more stable form of folate, called folic acid. If you eat folate-rich foods, and supplement with folic acid (at least 400 mcg per day), you will be sure to get enough of this important nutrient.
